Do chemicals Engineers find the slightest application in the upstream sector??
I know chemical engineers play more role in the downstream sector but I would like to know can they or do they play any role in the upstream sector??

I don't know why you are not aware of the many applications and projects that Chemical Engineers handle in the hydrocarbon upstream sector, but I can attest to the fact that there are many jobs handled by Chem Es there.

 

I have worked on many upstream job assignments through the years such as:

  • field phase separation;
  • produced gas treatment and dehydration;
  • crude conditioning;
  • gas compression and transport;
  • CO2 enhanced oil recovery (EOR);
  • Gas lift with natural gas dehydration;
  • Gas separation and purification.
