Hello Dear members,

On our Early production facility where we have crude oil stabilization unit  we have natural gas at low pressure, which now is going to flare since this gas does not meet specification for sales gas. Now we are looking for process and technology (dehydration and cleaning unit) which will allows us to use sale this natural gas in pipeline.

Inlet data:

  1. Gas pressure - 1,5 barg
  2. Gas temperature - plus10 deg. C
  3. Gas flow rate - 100 000 std.cubic meters/day
  4. Required pressure downstream (after dehydration and cleaning unit) - 50 barg

Gas composition, mole fr.:

СН4 - 68,9483

С2Н6 - 4,2168

С3Н8 - 2,1070

i-С4Н10 - 0,4012

n-С4Н10 - 0,7178

i-С5Н12 - 0,2080

n-С5Н12 - 0,1418

i-С6Н14 - 0,1049

N2 - 17,5096

CO2 - 0,2694

O2 - 5,3752

Sales gas specification:

  1. Water Dew point temperature at 40 barg - not higher that minus 8 deg. C
  2. HC Dew point temperature at working pressure - not higher that minus 0 deg. C
  3. Nitrogen mole fr. - not higher that 5 %
  4. Oxygen mole fr. - not higher that 0,02 %

We have issue with remove N2 and O2 from gas, also the pressure of gas is very low, so we need to compress this gas and than dehydrate gas. I attached sketsh with information.

If you you can recommend manufacture who can provide package for our requirement I will be grateful since my company did not have exoeriance with removing N2 and O2 from natural gas.

Regards,

Dmytro

Generally There is no Oxygen content from crude oil , the stabilized crude may contain dissolved oxygen, since it has come into contact with air during the storage process. Hence confirmthe source of Oxygen ingress. If O2 content removed from source by providing N2 blanketing then N2 content may not be problem for sales gas. Removal either O2 or N2 is possible only with cryogenic chilling method and it needs to compress the gas for high pressure and let down again to get chilled by JT effect thro expander.

Hi Dmitry

Did you Tried membrane gas separation?

I think that technology will be useful for specific separation. Try in the web about this technology

Good luck Dmitry

Dmitry,

"Oxygen and nitrogen do not occur in free state either in crudes or in fractions. Nitrogen presence in free form is well know in natural gas only", from Modern Petroleum Refining Processes by B. K. Bhaskara Rao, 5th. ed., Oxford&IBH Publishing, New Delhi, reprint 2012, p. 45.

You need confirm your information, maybe the sample was contaminated in laboratory.

Napo.

Yes, I tried but I did not found solution for now, only membranes for remove CO2. If you have any contacts who can help with it please let me know

Looking at the web (no affiliation with any of them)

http://www.blueskymi...eating-process/

http://www.mtrinc.co...en_removal.html

http://bcck.com/nitechprocess

http://www.newpointg...gen-o2-removal/

But I would go Napo's point, that you probably have an air contamination. The O2/N2 ratio is roughly similar to air's

Thanks for information, How I can get air contamination is gas system?
