Dear All,

I have observed that in many cases at the suction of a compressor, there is a manifold and the suction flow is distributed and enters the compressor in two separate nozzles. This is particularly seen in big compressor machines. Is there any reason not to provide a single nozzle and have two nozzles with flow distributed.

Can anyone please explain the reason for the same.

Thanks & Regards,

Each nozzle feeds a separate set of wheels. The piping has to be carefully configured. Look for a tutorial on centrifugal compressors.

Thanks Bobby for your reply.

With different set of wheels, do you mean that each stage of machine also has a different set of wheels respectively. Because, I have seen this multiple nozzle arrangement at each stage of centrifugal machine.

Kindly confirm my understanding.
