I understand the difference between Full Bore VS Reduced Bore Ball Valve.

What is the selection criteria for installing Full Bore & Reduced Bore ??

Generally, Whether can we use Full Bore Ball Valve instead of Reduced Bore Ball Valve in Pump ARC manual isolation valve ???

Papps,

For manual ball valves in several applications using full bore ones is highly recommended:

-Along the lines are subject to pig launching

-As inlet/outlet isolation valves of the PSVs

Indeed, there would be no problem to apply the full bore ball valve as manual isolation valve of pump ARC...

We found a curious situation in 2010-2012 during a China project.  Being U.S. based, we knew reduced bore ball valve was less expensive than same size full bore ball valve in U.S. market.  In China market, we found the opposite.   Has anyone else seen this?

Dear Latexman,

With the same material, it can be attributed to tight shut-off characteristic as reduced bore ball valves provide more tight shut-off capability than full bore ball valves...
