Dear Group Members,

Hope you all are fine and enjoying your good time.

We have a blender to mix two chemicals (Sketch is attached here), initially we were using it without any heating source and any vacuum but now after facing problems in mixing we need to add a heating source and to apply vacuum (not more than -350mmHg). Capacity of the blender is 7 tons and we have to heat it upto 70C and we are available with water as heating source at 85-90C at 3bar. For vacuum purpose we will reinforce the shell along its circumference from outside. I want to have your help for selecting and designing heating system for these blenders, limpet coil is quite expensive so we think simple jacket will be good choice but we dnt have any experience how to design these jackets.

Looking for favorable response.

Regards,

Asif Aziz

My suggestion is as follows:

If the vessel is to be reinforced on the outside wall, then use spiral rings or "C" type rings with staggered position, cover the rings to provide a heating medium channel, and attach nozzles for heating medium connection on the cover plates.   Too long channel sometimes may give high pressure drop, then divide the jacket side into two or more paths.
