Dear all,

I hope you could help me find out some answers,

we use to operate our atmospheric distillation tower for a capacity of more than 15,000 tpd but recently when we increased more than 14,000 we face a problem of losing kerosene content. every thing is fine, except that the pressure drop is increased and kero is lost .

I hope you could help me in this.

thanks,

Emerald,

If you lost kerosere production, maybe you have noted increase the diesel production or the diesel properties change.

If you have extraction column in "manual" (not in automatic)  you must be change the opening valve. Also you need to check the residue flow in the kerosene reboiler (this has a effect in the light product, more kerosene evaporated).

Napo,

kero evaporated all with Naphtha (we had heavier naphtha) so, we suspect that the problem is the temperature of the trays above kero but we don't know how to decrease that temperature without changing the products properties,

thanks for your reply,

Emerald,

Have you return to last charge?, if this charge haven't problem you can increase little a little the charge and you can find the problem.

check the top Temperature if it was high adjust it, and find the gap of the two products (5% and 95%) by that adjust your draw off carefully, and keep your eye on the level of the trays

all the best
