Hi Kranthi,

Does DP type LT's malfunction when foaming occurs in an amine absorber in gas sweetening unit..?

Compared with the various other types such as ultrasonic or capacitive, the differential pressure(DP) or float type sensors are less sensitive to foams.  When foaming occurs, the bottom level may usually drop not because of malfunction but because of column loading on each stage of the absorber.  The functionality of LT can be checked by local level gauges.
