Dear Members,

I am currently writing a report on the commissioning of Inert Gas Generator (IGG) on a FPSO. The supply of fuel gas to this IGG is via a double-walled piping or pipe-in-pipe because the pipe routing passes through a non-hazardous area. I was only verbally told that this is a safety requirement to provide double containment for hydrocarbon flowing lines which has no choice but to pass through a safe area. Can anyone tell me which standard or requirement explicitly mentions this so that I could reference when making that statement in my report? Is it a API or Class requirement or SOLAS?

Appreciate your advice.

Kind regards,
Leonard W.
