So, I could get paid 70k (80k with bonus) to work for a company doing work related to my degree (chem E)

Or I could work for the government doing Mech E related work and get paid:

1st year: 50k (with bonus) training
2nd year: 50k Plus grad school paid for getting M.S. in engr school of choice
3rd year: 55k training
4th year: 65-70k

The gov job will almost definitely have shorter hours with more holidays and will have a lower cost of living. Lets a modest 3k less on living expenses plus I have the option of living at my parents home if I want to save even more. (The gov job is close to home)

I can get more hands on experience in Chem E, or I can get new experience in Mech/Aero E plus a M.S. On the other hand, who knows how much increased earning potential there is at the private company, plus it will probably be more intense. So just from a financial and educational perspective, which do you think looks better?
