For general process of refinery we are using gate valve (6”) with description as Gate, CL150, RF, CS body, 13 CR trim, HF ST, FP, HW . If other conditions remain same then , can we use gate valve with Monel Trim istead of 13 Cr Trim . Pipe is Carbon Steel , rating 150# , Dgn Pr. & Temp. are 250 psig & 200 F ,Corr Allowance is 0.25”.

I don't see any problem with using Monel trim, but it is a more expensive material of construction than 13 Cr and is usually reserved for corrosive environments.

BTW, your subject appears in this forum as "refinery". The actual posting is applicable across all of the process industries. All would be better served if you could choose a better title such as "Valve trim materials" (for example).
