Hello all smile.gif

What is the orifice area of a thermal relief valve (3/4" x 1")? I found that there is no valve of 3/4" x 1 " size and corresponding orifice area mentioned in the tables in API 526. I have seen in some of the engineering specification of thermal relief valves wherein orifice area was mentioned as 0.11 inch2 which corresponds to " D" type orifice in API 526 Tables. Is that correct? Please guide me.

Also, is there any possibility that thermal relief valve is different than 3/4 " x 1"? is every 3/4" x 1" valve is a thermal relief valve?

3/4" x 1 " RV (non API 526 standard) is used widely. It can be "D" type or even bigger.
