So I am on my supposedly last semester in college. Of course, as a requirement before graduation it is important for us to have a study... I am interested in the pyrolysis of LDPE by means of plasma torch furnace. The problem is that I don't know whether LDPE has to change phase before cracking occurs. If it does, how should I determine the heat capacities for each phase of the plastic as well as its corresponding latent heat during phase change... If it doesn't have to change phase, then how much energy is needed for the reaction to thermally crack a solid state LDPE to its corresponding organic vapors? or where can I find the data related to my query...
Thanks a lot... I hope that you guys can help me in this matter...
