Quicklime (Calcium Oxide) is an efficient scavenger of moisture in its dehydrated state. It's also cheap, compared to orthe scavengers such as silica gel, drierite, oxazolidines, etc.
It is commonly found in water sensitive paint formulations (such as polyurethanes and polyureas).
