Please I am calculating the outbreathing flow rate of a breather valve.
Please I used Vout= Vpe+YVtk^0.9Ri
But it says I have to get the flash calculation

i have a tank of capacity 10209 cubic meter and maximum filling flow rate of 400 cubic meter per hour. The diameter of the tank is 25.5 meters and a height of 20 meters. What will be the out-breathing and in-breathing capacity of the breather valves considering the flash in calculating the out-breathing capacity? Note the content of the tank is volatile. please can anyone help?

Please be frank and open with our members.  Are you an engineering student in Ghana?   If so, I can move this thread to the Student Forum where you can receive our member's help and advice on how to solve a Flash operation as it applies to a conservation vent or relief device.

But you must be open and explain your query in detail.  The more detail and basic data that you give our experienced members, the better and more applicable the help.  If you are a student and have been assigned this as a homework or other problem, then tell us.  The nature and simplicity of this query is easy to resolve - but more details and an explanation is needed.  Our Forums don't do homework or teach Thermodynamics, but we can help you understand the nature of the problem and lead you to your resolution.

Are you flashing into the (storage) tank?  If so, what are you flashing (in detail)?  Where did you obtain the equation?  Furnish an engineering sketch to show the details of your problem.  What - exactly - is it that says you "have to get the flash calculation"???

And kindly stop making multiple postings of the same topic.  I deleted your other posting.

Expect your reply.

Sorry sir it's not like I keep on sending multiple Post. And the truth of the matter is that I am not a chemical engineering student. I studied electrical engineering but the place that am working now we have a tank with a vent installed on it already but initially our receiving/filling flow rate was 240 cubic meters per hour but we want to increase the flow rate to 800cubic meters per hour that is why I am trying to do that calculation for me to be sure that the tank can withstand the pressure, since there's no chemical engineer to do that calculation.
I have done the calculation but am not sure of the figures am getting.
Thank you.

That's OK.  We are both engineers, so lets use our engineering common sense.  We now know that you've already done the calculations.  The simplest and easiest engineering manner to confirm the applicability of the calculation results is to submit your calculations for review and check-ups.  This is the normal, everyday method of confirming engineering calculations world-wide.  Simply submit to our Forum members your calculations (legible and in detail), and they will immediately know what the application is and determine if your calculation steps are valid and reasonable.  This can be done by using our Forum's detailed Reply Option.   It would be great and result in an immediate reply if your calculations can be submitted in an Excel spreadsheet, where they are not only legible, but also automatic in the mathematical steps.

Await your reply.
