Dear All, 

I write this topic to ask  a request and I would be extremely grateful if you could answer it.

 

I have been working on a project and the purpose of the project is energy audit and energy saving opportunities. I need your help and experience to estimate appropriate capacity for the BOG compressor in order to reduce LPG flaring. Based on the data gathering I found out that the plant has a large amount of LPG flaring in the “Propane Storage and export unit” from propane storage tanks because of the lack of good performance of boil of gas recovery system for the current operating condition. Total length of LPG circulation line has increased in compression with the design condition so the BOG compresses is not able to produce appropriate cooling capacity and every day 150 -200 Metric-Ton of LPG is flared.

I would appreciate your help if you can send me your solution in order to prevent LPG flaring. I need approximate capacity of new BOG compressor and its approximate cost.

I have attached necessary documents.

 

- Current BOG compressor PFD and data sheet.

- Propane Storage Tanks PFD

- Daily report of LPF flaring

your description of the project is too vague to provide good answers....

anyway, the loss of 150-200 t/d of lpg is a very serious problem that shall be solved very quickly.

it seems the addition of a new bog recovery system sized for 5-10 t/h should provide the quickest solution to this problem without shutting down the system for a long time.

maybe you can also find on the market prompt rentable solutions (one or more groups).

after this steps, there will be the possibility to revamp the (existing) main system to improve the performances.

there are a lot of little but strong specialized engineering companies (and the existing machine manufacturer) that will be happy to assist you by providing good proposals.

  Thank very much. I appreciate your explaining, but could you please give me an approximate compressor size and price? the numbers in daily reports are more accurate.

If you want to use the values that you have measured then it's only arithmetic to determine the compressor capacity. We don't design stuff, just offer advice. However, it's always best to verify measured values with calculations. If you lack experience in your organization, then you should engage some qualified engineering service.
