Hello everyone,
Does anyone have any experience in using NaOH as one of the stream component in HYSYS? What fluid package should I use in order for the component to work?
We tried to use UNIQUAC model for the other components. However, it is not compatible for NaOH. So, I also tried to use OLI_Electrolyte, but it still isn't compatible. What fluid package should be used for NaOH or other electrolytes? Or what could I have done wrong for it to be incompatible?
Thanks. I hope it will be answered here.

To use OLI_Electrolyte you need a license to OLI specifically (most companies and educational institutions do not have this).
You can use NRTL, but it won't give great results, especially if you have reactions happening.
If you have a recent version of HYSYS w/ Aspen Properties, you can use the AP ELECNRTL model. That may be your best choice.

Thank you for your answer. As a beginner of Aspen, I find it really hard to troubleshoot the errors in the simulation. Now, it makes sense on where the errors came from.
