Dear All,

I need to purchase the pump for the Sulfuric Acid (98.5%). My team suggested that Pneumatic type Pump (using the Plant Air as a driving media) can be used. The primary rationale for selecting the Pneumatic Pump is purely on the cost basis.

The purpose of the pump is for draning and transfer of the Sulfuric Acid line during Maintenance.

Personally I never had experience of using the Pneumatic Pump for the Sulfuric Acid Pump.

Kindly share your opinion based on your experience whether Penumatic Pump can used for Sulfuric Acid or not.

Hi ,

You should contact vendors like Wilden ,Yamada and others . Finding the suitable material is key (diaphragm and body ) .

my view.

As in an air operated diaphragm pump? The material selection would be important for sulfuric acid. PTFE should be suitable.

Air diaphragm pump with PTFE body and diaphragm should suffice.

To update,

I got the quotation from Wilden Pump. Wilden recommends PTFE and PVDF for Sulfuric Acid. Finally selecting the PTFE Material.

Thanks a lot Breizh and Thorium for your valuable suggestion.
