Acid Gas - Caustic Wash - Hysys Help

Hello to all!

Does anybody here could explain me how is the convergence behavior of Hysys on Acid Gas - Caustic Wash package?

I am simulating a scrubber to remove H2S and i don't understand the low efficiencies generated by Hysys and, eventually, when i change something - like change the package and then return to the old package - (not on the stream inlet), push run again, the results changes.

I know its an 'efficiency' matter but i don't understand what is happening.

I know if i change efficiencies manually, i can get any number i want but, at what cost? what is involved? See picture attached.

Should'nt the column be reactive one? 

Dear sgkim, thank you for your attention to this topic.

Unfortunately, i really dont know about about reactive columns on absorpion process in Hysys.

This the reason of my post (to understand and learn more).

Could you explain me a little about this?

What version of HYSYS do you use? The Acid Gas - Caustic Wash package was released with V11. I didn't find Efficiencies folder in Hysys example file.

Hi Nikolai! You are right! I am using Hysys V11.

The print screen attached is exactly the example that im working right now.

There  i can change the efficiencies but i was wondering about my modifications, if they are realistic or not.

When you deal with Efficiencies nobody help you. Intensive research and experimental data are needed. Aspentech isn't responsible. They are just programmers, you are just buyer.
