I'm trying to find out when a simple water/hydrogen cooling tower packed with 2" pall rings will begin to flood. I've worked out the superficial gas velocity and the liquid loading velocity, i've also found the void fraction/packing factor etc. but i can't find any data/graphs with regards to flood points. Is there a way i can calculate this without needing graphs?

Kind regards

Hi ,

Consider the resource attached.

Other resource : Perry's chemical engineers' handbook

Good luck
