Hello everyone,
I do operate a DM water plant which has capacity 2*136 m3/hr (It has two chain). A degassing tower is located in between strong acid cation resin bed and strong anion resin bed to bring down H2CO3+ dissolve CO2 from 60 ppm to bellow 5 ppm CO2 before feeding to SBA resin bed. The water inlet pH generally remain around 3.5 before the degasser. Total alkalinity of feed water to DM plant is around 80 ppm CaC03. Temperature of water remain around 25-35 Deg.C on average through out the year. The tower is filled with Paul ring packing, and air is forced to flow through the tower by using blowers to remove dissolve CO2/H2CO3.
My question is, 1. can I use Henry law to calculate equilibrium distribution of CO2 in air to H2CO3* in water?
2. I don't know the value of Henry law constant at pH 3.5 for water CO2,H2CO3 system. So how to calculate henry law constant at that low pH?
Mentioning of any other extra references by group members, regarding the design of degassing tower, would also be very helpful for me.
Thnx in advance.
