Dear all,

I have a query which i think is more related with piping. :D

Is it allowed to have ALL PRV's inlet or outlet piping joints to have flanged connection.
Or it should be only welded joints. Please refer the sketch.
If it (welded joints) is mandatory requirement could you please provide any standard/code reference.

Thanks in advance.
Shantanu.

It can be flanged and/or welded.  Just assign and follow the appropriate piping spec for each pipe.

Thank you sir, but this doesn't specifically says about piping joints whether flanged/welded. However, its a good informative document. Thanks.

Hi,

The joint you referred to doesn't need to be flanged; just if you want having pipe spool at the PRV inlet line to provide a positive isolation you need flanged connections for such pipe spool...
