HI,

I was wondering how to estimate how many stages of the falling film evaporator I need?
Where should I look to find the answer for which data or value?

I am using in the process waste steam.

Thank you for help.
Tomasz

Hi ,

A few documents and link to support your work :

https://nzifst.org.n...evaporation.htm

Figures are available in the link above ( steam consumption / water evaporated ) vs number of effects .

To me MVR should be investigated for this type of process .

Hope this is helping you.

Breizh

Enable GingerHi Administartor,

Could you explain more precisely how to determine the number of stages for multiple installation of evaporators. Maybe we can use an example.

I have stcickwater flow of 4800kg/hr and I would like to evaporate 3200kg/hr .
I have residueal vapour of 1800kg/hr which will go to the evaporator.

How many stages should I use? I, II or III?

Thank you
