Hello

I am an undergratuated student and I am designing a heat exchanger. I couldn't be able to find how large can the temperature difference be. For example, can I use only one heat exchanger to heat directly a fluid from 293 Kelvin to 873 Kelvin, or something like that is impossible and so I should use more than one heat exchangers? What is the typical maximum temperature difference that can be achieved ?

Thank you in advance

Hi ,

let you consider the link above .

BTW you can also explore the subject using your favorite search engine or the one in this forum.

note : Did you ask the question to your instructor ?

remark : Process heat transfer  by Kern is a good reference.

Hope this is helping you .

Hi,
You have to know that this difference of temperature should have many exchangers. Try to use EDR, it gives the full design and also the required number of exchangers

Hi,

It's hard to imaging. To heat something to 873 K you need a heater.
