Can you guys please give me as much information as you can about PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene).
Should have processes involved for production as well as the best among the processes.

Varun,

Refer Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in Volume 11 of Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology. Plenty of information is available including manufacturing process of PTFE. Manufacturing process of the monomer TFE is also described.

Ankur.

Varun,

I am not an expert on PTFE. I believe PTFE technology is still closely guarded. I can provide you some additional reading in the form of the link below:

http://www.scribd.co...ation-Process-1

Additionally since you are located in India you can get in touch with the company "Gujarat Fluorochemicals" who manufacture PTFE. They may be willing to share some preliminary information if you are working on a project for PTFE as an engineering student. Refer the link below:

http://www.gfl.co.in...roducts_pro.htm

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Ankur.

I am not aware of the subject, probably you want general process information for a first technology screening.
http://www.madehow.c...e-7/Teflon.html '> http://www.madehow.c...e-7/Teflon.html may be useful, as well as the book (price $650) presented in
http://industrialpro...LON-LINING.html '> http://industrialpro...LON-LINING.html . Similar additional data might be traced by digging into web.
Hopefully the query will be unswered by somebody with expertize.

I wish if there could be another way that would not have cost much as this is my final year project and is very important for me to be done so please help me out
its not only for u anyone who reads this topic if he/she has any idea about this topic then plz do give your suggestions or any material if available, it would be of great help for me.

I have met the book by chance in the Web, not having experience. A small research indicates no such used book for sale. It may belong to specialized publications of limited circulation (and high price) sold to specific investors / companies interested. It would be difficult to locate them and have access to the book through them (to take the data needed), yet it may worth a try.
But first I would contact the Publisher (Engineers India Research Institute), trying to know which libraries / universities (if any) have the book. Last chance would be to ask Instructor to buy the book for the University Library.
I do hope there will be a way to access this book, considered useful. Best regards
