Hi everyone

For dynamic simulation, I need some guidance for determining liquid flowrate passing through an XV (HIPPS shutdown valve) while XV is closing. XV is 20" ball valve. A consultant will perform the dynamic simulation. Any guidance will be appreciated. For on-off valves, Is there any information on characteristic curve. Please let me know if its clear.

Thanks

Fez

Fez, Cv vs %open data are readily available from numerous ball valve manufacturers.  The typical curve is, of course, non-linear.  You will also need data on how quickly the actuator closes.  For instance, see http://www.kthsales....fischer/343.pdf
