I am currently checking the Capacity of Vacuum relief valve of our ammonia storage facility and I came across a phenomena called Barometric inversion.

I would like to know about it. What it means? Why it is considered in the design basis?

Hi,

It appears to be related to atmospheric pressure change due to temperature inversion. If so, the density of the sucking air due to a vacuum inside the tank will be changed and the capacity of the relevant vacuum relief valve as well.
