Hi!

I am a young engineer working at an EPC company.

This is my first post, so please understand, if I am not familiar with writing style in this forum.

I am currently enrolled in a role for dynamic simulation of a compressor.

I requested inertia value from Vendor, and vendor gave me inertia value separately for compressor part, gear part, and motor part.

(lets say 2, 150, 180 kg-m2)

However, if you have worked dynamic simulation with Hysys, you can only input one inertia to the simulation file like the multiplication of mass and gyration.

If I input the inertia of compressor given by vendor, it is so small that there will be a surge, and i think this is not a right value because it is too small.

and if I put inertia that is the combination of compressor, gear, and motor (2+150+180), that is too large, and even if i won't experience a surge, it does not make sense to me based on other dynamic simulation experience. (last time, vendor gave me one connected inertia)

I will ask vendor again for connected compressor that can be properly input to hysys,

but I also want to ask if you have any idea to work with those values given above.

I looked for other peoples case, but I couldnt find any.

It will really help me out cause I am stuck to this for more than three days.

Thank You.

Machine inertia has nothing to do with compressor surge. But it determines the response to surging conditions.

Hello.

Can i recieve good advise?

The thing is, i can't simulate dynamic compressor, because of have not efficiency in Origninal Curves. I have 6 pressure - capacity curves with 6 speed. Can somebody show me how multiple effincienty capacity curve must be in general?
