Hi All,

We are currently working on expanding the current living quarter on an offshore platform. The potable water supply line is equipped with a relief valve, which is planned to discharge overboard.

The problem is to do that, a significant amount of construction work has to be done including tearing down some walls an rebuilding them which will of course consume more money and time. Our piping guys came back with a better solution with far less construction required, they will lay down the outlet line from the PSV to the nearest drain box.

Is there any restriction to do that? Any guidelines/codes that I should refer to?

Thanks in advance

Sherif
