What is/are the benefits of Information Technology (IT) to Chemical engineers and what are the viable areas of interest and researches open to chemical engineers?

 

What areas of researches can chemical engineers undertake in the field of Information Technology (IT)  to have total control over the research area?

By IT, do you mean software that chemical engineers use or perhaps you mean where to get information or perhaps the technology used to get the information?
