Hi all,

I am in process of developing a Process tool for estimating Tank venting calculations for my company as per API 2000 2014 edition. I have following queries regarding the subject matter.

1) Do we need to calculate the Inert gas flow rate requirement as per Annexure F of API 2000 OR as a sum of Thermal and Normal inbreathing rates. These two calculations are giving different results. Annexure F is giving a lesser value than the other method as it is reducing the Thermal flow rate term by lesser factor depending upon the Level of inbreathing selected.

2) Annexure F describes about 3 different Levels of Inert gas calculations. How do we select which one  is more applicable for our use?

Please provide an explanation for my doubts

Thanks in advance.
