Firstly, fired heaters are dynamic. Heat exchangers can be both dynamic and steady state. Use fired heater if you really need the options inside, like the radiant and convective sections. I got some nice info for your reading.

Depending on the level of detail you require, HySys is not able to accurately simulate a fired heater and provide reliable process and mechanical details. To carry out reliable simulations that provide results for No. of Radiant and Convection tubes, Avg Radiant Flux, Flue Gas Flow, Radiant and Convection duties, etc., your best option would be to use specialist fired heater simulation software.

There is a new software called Heater560 which is very easy to use and will actually generate a full heater design based on your minimal specified requirements. So if you only have basic information/requirements at this stage, that program would probably be best for you.

Could you please help me find the heater560 software to download it.

Thanks.

You have to request for a 'free trial' the Heater560 software can be downloaded. The following link will take you to the page where you can request for this trial (someone usually responds very quickly!)
