Hello gentelmen,

I am working on simulation of MEA/MDEA CO2 capture plant in HYSYS,

I would like to ask if you have any documentation or worked examples for this purpose?  And I will appreciate any advise or guidance related to that topic.

Thank you in advance !

If you are serious about modeling this process, you will avoid using Hysys. ProMax is the simulator I would choose, as it takes into account the reaction kinetics and is the industry standard for amine systems. Hysys would never be used by anyone actually designing or troubleshooting an amine unit.

Well, it's not that accurate, It's for my final project. I would really enjoy using Protreat or Promax if I had acccess to, but HYSYS is the only software I have so far.

You are a student, so you should do your own work.

Bobby is absolutely correct.  In a Computer Simulation Course you learn the abilities and disabilities of the simulation programs you study and work with.  If you have done your job as a student to learn how to input the data and interpret the printout results, you should have no problems.  Asking for an "example" simulation run of a similar application is like asking for the inputs that have to be used for the program to produce the results.  If you are going to be graded on how you input a simulation program, then that constitutes an unfair and unethical situation where you obtain grades for work you didn't do - learning and demonstrating how to input data into a simulation program.

Am I (and Bobby) correct?  Or is this a very different student situation than from what I've described?

Bobby, Montemayor, Thank you for your answer although I am afraid you have misunderstood the purpose of my inquiry.

I have asked for worked real examples just to be able to compare and have a much broader view. Otherwise I have my own plant data that I need to simulate.

What I would like to know is the limitations and details of the thermodynamic packages ... so I chose the one that fits the most.

I guess having some guidance from experienced specialists, like the people of this forum, is essential for students to develop and gain time and effort.
