Hi all,

I have a question for the reproducibility of lab tests on the products coming out of the refinery.

Currently for example the reproducibility for pour point test for Fuel Oil for ASTM D5950 is 6.1degC.

The sales spec is 24degC for pour point.

Does this mean that in order to prevent third party lab test from declaring off-spec, one should target 24 - 6.1 degC = 17.9degC as the fuel oil manufacturing spec?

This to me is a lot of diesel loss that is bled into Fuel Oil to meet this.

Can anyone share how they handle the lab reproducibility of ASTM tests?
