Dear all

I was performing a hysys simulation of a gas sweetening process with MDEA. My gas has both H2S and CO2, but the objective is to maximize CO2 slip. MDEA is 40% wt.

I was working with 7.3 version, and on the parameters-efficiencies tab for the colum (trayed), efficiencies about 0.02 were shown for CO2. Higher efficiencies are shown for H2S absorption, which makes sense for me. My question arises because I came up with a template simulation in 8.4 version were efficiencies of 0.15 are shown for CO2 removal. Them, my sweet gas has a lot less of CO2.

My question is then: which number shall I use? My column is part of a Tail gas Treating Unit for a typical sulfur recovery unit.

Thanks in advance

Hello

I noticed that the two absorbers I was comparing have different pressures. I think that is what makes the difference
