Hello Everyone,

I am trying to simulate Stirling cycle in Aspen HYSYS software. but i have problem for simulation of heat transfer process in constant volume.

this process sections are 4 and 2 of the cycle, according to above picture.

could you help me for simulation of this process in the HYSYs software?

which kind of equipment am I choosing for this purpose?

thanks a lot.

with a software you need to solve a few flash operations...

it shouldn't be that difficult with a simulator,

but before to use a software you may use a Mollier chart to understand well how it works...

you'll see that for some operations volume is constant (well, about) hence

the software should allow to enter the volume as spec....

(or you may include a controller but that is a very slow and complex alternative...)

I utilize the flash operations available in Prode Properties (prode.com) which allow

to solve (T, P, H, S) for specified volume (in addition to other usual flash),

I estimate heat transfer (dH) with a simplified formulation in Excel,

if you do not require accurate results (for heat transfer) follow a similar procedure.
