Hello everyone,

I am trying to simulate an ion exchange column for the removal of certain salts from water (for the purposes of this topic lets just consider the cation removal resin and  say the water contains K, Mg and Ca with the resin in Na form).

What software would be the best for this? I was thinking OpenModelica but I don't want to learn a whole new language just to figure out that it cannot simulate a system that is not at steady state very well. If necessary I can buy a software package but I want to use freeware if I can.

Thanks
