During Blowdown and flare System Review we performed FlareNet simulation we've detected high back pressure and vivration on some lines. We've increased the in order to resolve these issue.
The Problem is the following:
- Flarenet results are static back pressure and total back pressure ( Static + dynamic) . Which one should we use to select the back pressure Knowing the fact that for 2 " pipe the static back presure is 30 bar the tatal BP has a very similar value however when increasing the piping diameter to 6" the static back pressure is 2 bar and the total BP is 25 bar.
- Furthermore the Back pressure has a big impact on the discharge temperature (RO outlet) should I use the static or the total PB to estimate it

The pressure we consider in process system is static pressure. you can see in API 520 that all pressure mentioned in the code is highlighted as "static". Total pressure is the combination between static and dynamic which includes the velocity head.
