           Respected sir,

I calculate the thickness of vessel, it comes less than 1mm , following are the parameters, p= 13 kg/cm2, OD=6 in,length=15.76in , joint efficiency = 1,allowable stress for API 2H GR 50 MATERIAL = 20015psi,
t= P*R/SE-0.6P.
calculated thickness arise so much less whats the problem??
kindly suggest.

Your thickness calculation is correct. The reason the thickness is coming out so small is because R is much smaller than usual. The normal R is much larger because vessels are usually much larger.

For such cases the actual thickness is often governed by other factors like corrosion allowance, stiffness, fabricabilty etc.

srfish:

How to increase thickness  or which factor we have to add ... since less than 1 mm vessels is not possible.,..

Hi Sayed,

What is your design code? If you are using ASME Section VIII Div. 1, then material must be listed in UCS-23.

Regards,

Rizwan
