Hi,

I am calculating oxygen present in flue gas of reformer after leaving the radiation section.

Reformer is using 04 streams as fuel in radiation section.

My value is different than what is provided by Licencor although composition and flow of all the streams of fuel gas mixture is same as provided by licensor. My calculated value is higher than that mentioned in PFD.

i want clarification related to following two points;

1. One of my doubt the reason behind this is i have calculated Nitrogen moles present in Air (Required + Available) and Fuel gas. But i have not considered NOx formation which will utilize oxygen present after combustion. Appreciate if someone can confirm it.

2. In case NOx formation need to be considered i don't know at what temperature NOx formation will take place. How to calculate how much NOx will be formed? if i applied simple equations, may be all the oxgyen will be consumed theoratically. Appreciate if anyone can share how to calculate it.

I am unable to attach excel sheet of calculation as of now but will upload it shortly.

Sorry in advance.

Regards,

Ankit,
You might get some answers after submitting your calculations so that experts can judge what went wrong with your calculations.
