Hi, 

I have to compare the different heat transfer equipment on the basis of their thermal efficiency. can anyone help me

The efficiency is defined as the ratio of the quantity of heat removed from a fluid to the maximum that could have been removed. You can find the equation in  Kern or any other book on Process Heat Transfer.
