Hi,

I am designing an erosion-corrosion rig which consists of an air tight cube shaped tank.

The tank would contain 60% recirculating liquid while the rest of the space is occupied by instruments and the specimens.

The test parameters require an oxygen-free environment.

I was thinking of supplying CO2 from a cylinder at the bottom of tank and saturating the water (20-80C) while also pushing the layer of air out of the tank through a manually operated valve at the top of tank.

My main concern is finding a way to ensure CO2 saturation of the environment.

I am looking for a relatively inexpensive and small in size solution

I was thinking of having an oxygen detector at the top of the tank.

Thank you

Hello Clyde

I would not use CO2 as it can dissolve in the water leading to acidic conditions, like a "soft drink".  Carbonic acid.   Why not something more inert like Nitrogen N2.
