Good evening everyone

My question maybe is a bit stupid, but I'm request to have a course for new recruits.

So I was wondering if you know where can be available a guideline about "how to fill a mechanical equipment datasheet (e.g. for a valve, a pump, a vessel or a tank, .....)

I have some datasheet sample but I would to give to the attendees a sort of booklet.

Do someone of you give me any suggestions?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Aznadif

For your purposes, review "Applied process design for chemical and petrochemical plants, vol 1, 2 and 3 by Ernest E. Ludwig from Gulf Professional Publishing"

It has numerous examples of different equipment and accessories.

Good luck

Fausto

Aznadif,

You can review the book: "Standard Plant OperatorĀ“s Questions and Answers", Vol. 1 and 2,  by Elonka and Robinson.

Another good source besides Ludwig is: Chemical Engineer Design by Towler and Sinnott. In section G They show "Equipment Specification (Data) Sheets.

In terms of guidance to new technical people/ engineers, as done in most Engineering and Construction Companies, be sure to advise them to be only filling out information that they understand and is their own technical discipline/qualification.

For example I am a Process Engineer, and if I fill in the Instrument and Electrical and Mechanical sections of the sheet also it is likely wrong and can be embarrassing. It is ok so long as senior people in those other disciplines will check and amend it before it is issued for use.
