Hello all,

 

I need some guidance in finding the resulting temperature for diluting a specific NaOH solution.

 

I have a stream of 23%w/w of NaOH with a flowrate of 0.042kg/s getting mixed with a stream of 0.445kg/s water, both streams being at 35oC. The resulting diluted solution has a mass fraction of 2%. How can I calculate the resulting temperature of this resulting stream?

 

I can work it out using a graph that I got from oxychem. However I would like to do it accurately using calcs. Can someone help me out how I can do it?

The post mostly describes a relative simple heat/mass balance type calculation. In order to make it "accurate using calcs" one would need an accurate mathematical expression for the relative enthalpy of NaOH solutions as a function of temperature and concentration.

I want expression for relative enthalpy of NaOH as function of temperature and concentration.
Or can anyone provide Enthalpy concentration temperature data of NaOH in tabular form ???.
I have chart of enthalpy concentration but using chart is reduces accuracy

Hello, I'm trying to do a similar calculation to figure out the final temperature when diluting a batch of water to 7.5% hydrogen peroxide using 25% hydrogen peroxide. Is there a similar document for H2O2 that relates heat of dilution to different concentrations and different temperatures?
