BOILING COLUMN TO BE USED FOR MANUFACTURING RECTIFIED SPIRIT.

THE COLUMN DETAILS ARE AS UNDER--

PLATES NUMBERS 23 ,DISTANCE BETWEEN PLATES 500 MM, WEIR HEIGHT 60 MM.

COLUMN IS TO WORK UNDER ATM PRESSURE.

MY QUESTION IS THAT

1- WHAT SHOULD BE THE HEIGHT OF THE U TYPE SIPHON ATTACHED TO THE BOTTOM SECTION OF THE BOILING COLUMN.

2- IF COLUMN IS ATTACHED WITH RE BOILER THEN SIPHON IS NEEDED OR NOT.

3- UNDER VACUUM DISTILLATION SIPHON IS NOT REQUIRED ?

REQUESTED TO KINDLY EXPLAIN WITH CALCULATION.

SKETCH IS ATTACHED .

Arun:

This query is very basic and badly written.  It lacks full details and explanations.  Are you a student?

You are basically asking experienced engineers on our forums to “explain (your problem) with calculation” so that you can obtain credit for something you did not achieve.  I don’t think you are going to obtain free calculations from our members that resolve your problem.

Our Forums were never intended to furnish free consulting or to resolve homework assignments or academic problems for students.  Perhaps if you explain your position and situation better, our members can offer suggestions, comments, or recommendations.
