What is the kind of data is necessary to design a strainer? The solid maximum diameter is enough or I need a complete granulometric information? What kind of test can give me this data?

Thanks,

João

normally I include the usual process and mechanical spec's  plus  mesh spec's such as particle sizes, strainer type (membrane, mesh screens, drilled holes) etc.

Thank you for your answer.

Regarding the particle sizes, is there a need for a complete granulometric curve or only the information about the maximum diameter is enough?

Regards,

João

Good day to you

The first step is to fix the process requirements to suit all the operating scenarios based on different ranges of feed stock, which could vary with quality and quantity during the life time of the facility being designed. Please describe your process system for better understanding and response
