Dear Sirs,

We are working on Olefin Conversion Unit project which contains deetylenizer and depropanizer columns. Among many others hot relief cases there is a few cases with negative temperature relief streams (also deetylenizer decompression stream). We are wondering if plant main header shall be connected upstream or downstream water seal upstream flare.

Could you advise?

You should seek advice from competent professionals for this project. Someone or some company with verifiable credentials.

Reliefs from these towers typically go through stainless steel piping to a dry flare drum where any liquids are vaporized. Routing low temperature reliefs through a water drum is atypical.
