There is a rectangular water container.

wall and bottom is insulated with some polyester material.

roof is covered with stainless steel cover no insulation. roof is 12 m2.

Water in tank is 60C. Amb temperature is -30C. height of tank is 2m. water level is 1.5 m.

I am calculating the heat loss through the roof cover.

But it comes up with super huge value, if I apply the condutive heat transfer fomular.

Should I consider the 0.5m vapour as insulation layer?

Hi ,

Consider the resource attached to support your work .

Yes the vapor space will play a role in heat transfer .

Hope this helps
