I have Distillation column running at certain design capacity, also I have working PROII model at the same capacity. Now I would like to expand its feed by 30%, so I simulate my model increasing feed by 30% more and adjusted the product draw with additional 30% range.

My question which factor will indicate whether this column has enough capacity to process new feed rate? What other column internal information required to compare? I heard about flooding factor, C Factor etc. but how to know the existing vs, new using PROII.

Sounds like you have a lot to learn about distillation hardware. Research the topic first, then members might help in areas where you don't understand. Looks like you have a task that you are not yet prepared to perform. Be patient, and start the learning process.

Pro/II has some built-in tray rating and tray sizing abilities and also tools for packed beds. These tools will use the internal hydraulic profile to calculate the approach to flood at each region of the column. When the service requires a larger diameter column, you have exceeded the capacity of the current column.
