Dear Community Members,

I found very informative material on fluid velocity limits for fluid flowing through piping in Cheresources. These referred mainly to API 14E.

My question is,  are there any similar guidelines for velocity limit within inline instruments like vortex, coriolis flow meters and control valves?

These inline instruments cause temporary increase in velocity within them.

I know few standards which limit the pressure drop across vortex flowmeters and coriolis flowmeters to avoid flashing of liquids, but they do not say anything about velocity.
