Gents,
Im currently carrying out a pressure drop calculation for an existing incineration train to determine the maximum potential flowrate the system can handle. The system essentially consists of a heat recovery unit, thermal oxidizer and an emissions stack. I have determined the rate at which the airflow discharges through the stack at atmospheric pressure, but im curious as to what would occur if a much higher flowrate where to flow through the system? Would this result in a backpressure acting upon the system upstream of the process causing a restriction in airflow?
